An Influence On My Love for Travel.
In this series of brief creative snippets (300 words or less), I explore my fascination with travel and culture inspired by watching Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, a show my parents once deemed “slightly risqué.” Through reflections on Bourdain’s adventures, I examine the powerful influence his world travels had on my own curiosity with a growing desire to experience life beyond the familiar.
Beautiful Together Feature Story.
For my final project in MEJO 153 Writing & Reporting (Word Count: 933), I covered the story of Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary, co-founded by Tamara and Steve Lackey in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The sanctuary, built on 83 acres of land, will serve as a refuge for rescued animals and at-risk children, reflecting the Lackeys’ commitment to creating a space of healing and connection inspired by their international philanthropic work as the construction of the sanctuary nears completion.
